Make pollinators a priority

HAPP-BEE NEW YEAR!!!

What a year 2017 was!

For the Seedball team, the highlight came towards the end of the year when the UK government declared that it would back a total ban on neonectinoids - the insect harming pesticides that are used in fields across Europe. Unfortunately, this change in stance followed from a growing collection of research that indicates that insect populations across the globe are not doing well.

We think that in 2018 the insects need a helping hand more than ever.

We want you to help us to grow a brighter future, not just for bees, not just for butterflies but for every mini beast across the country! So, we're asking you to join our new year's resolution and make pollinators a priority in your garden, balcony or window box. There is no space too small for the #wildflowerwarriors!

How can you do this?

The best way is to let go and let the wildness in! Say no to lawnmowers, clipped borders and non-native species, and let the wildflowers do the work!

It's the easiest new year's resolution you'll ever make and one that you can definitely keep!

So, will you take the pledge and make pollinators a priority this year? Let us know what you're up to throughout 2018 using the #wildflowerwarrior hashtag. We get so inspired when we see all the amazing, creative things that you get up to!

Of course we'll be sharing our own ideas and inspiration throughout the year, so be sure to check back regularly for what to do when throughout 2018.

Here's to a Happ-bee New Year!!
