News round up!

There has been a lot happing in the wildflower world this summer, so with Autumn just around the corner here are our 'Top 5' UK summer wildflower stories from across the web:

5. Wildflower seeds have been vacuumed up in Bath in order to spread the flowers grown in hay meadows.

4. Two vets from Great Wyrley in Coventry have been giving out free wildflower seeds to clients in an effort to promote the growth of bee-friendly flowers.

3. Sheep have returned to London's Royal Parks for the first time since the 1930's in a bid to help the conservation of wildflower meadows in the parks.

2. In a close second: A flower, thought to be extinct, has been rediscovered in the Lake District National Park. Leek-coloured hawkweed was spotted by a botanist who was out walking in the area.

1. But, top of the list has to be the news that there is a new wildflower on the block! Yes, in August this year researchers on Shetland in Scotland discovered a new wildflower. Shetland's monkeyflower is thought to have evolved in the past 200 years, and it's a striking beauty with a bright yellow cup and small blood red spots.
