Talk about community spirit!

At Seedball, we love the stream of tweets, photos and updates that we receive each week from everyone doing their bit for wildflowers and pollinators!

It keeps us motivated, and reminds us everyday why we do what we do!

Last weekend we asked what everyone was up to outside, and my, what a group of busy bees the Seedball community is!

Planning, clearing and ' playing' were all on the agenda last weekend. So, if you're doing the same this weekend here's some ideas for what you could be getting up to:

  1. Mulching: If you had a cut Christmas Tree this year it's the perfect time to get it shredded and spread across the ground. If you want to know a bit more about mulching, here's an overview.

  2. Cleaning: Everyone seems to love a pre-Spring clean and January is a great time of year to carry out maintenance around the place. Just be mindful of what might be enjoying those untidy corners!

  3. Repairing: Rather than clearing up those corners of the garden that might be harbouring all sorts of insects, you could look to other ventures that would make your garden super wildlife friendly. What about making a bird box or a bat box?

  4. Feed the birds: We're still (unfortunately) a long way from Spring, so make sure you keep the bird feeders stocked up! Did you see our guide on making yummy bird cakes? And, make sure you keep the bird baths from freezing over - if you don't have one you could always make one!

  5. Planning: Are you thinking of setting up a wildflower patch in your garden? Or expanding an existing one!? You can find a lot of excellent advice and resources right here!
