#WildflowersForLondoners

This spring Seedball is partnering with London National Park City to help make London that little bit brighter! The aim is to sow 9 million wildflowers across the city, one flower for every Londoner - #WildflowersForLondoners!

What is the #WildflowersForLondoners campaign about?

London National Park City want you to help show Londoners how easy it is to #getgrowing in your own neighbourhoods and how, through small actions, we can transform our urban landscape into a beautiful city of colourful wildflowers.

Is there a forlorn corner near your home? An empty concrete planter outside your flat or shop? A boring border in your garden? You could turn that dreary area outside your office into an oasis for wild Londoners, or get together with your friends and neighbours and make your street a river of flowers. Is there a community garden near you that could benefit, or could you get some for your local Friends of Park group? What about those wide expanses of concrete and grassland around your local hospital, could you get permission or work with one of their Friends groups to sow wildflowers along their paths or around their car parks?

When does the #WildflowersForLondoners campaign begin, and how can I get involved?

You can find out how you can get your own big bag of seed balls, and at the same time invest in even more wildflowers for London’s future through supporting the campaign here.

Who or what is 'London National Park City'?

London is one of the world’s most inspirational, distinctive and iconic cities. Thousands of years of human activity is visible – but London is shaped by its hills, valleys and rivers, too. Boasting four World Heritage Sites, London’s urban and built heritage sits alongside its conserved natural landscape.

Besides 8.6 million people, London is home to more than 8.3 million trees and 14,000 species of wildlife.

The aim is to recognise this and make London a greener, healthier, fairer and even more beautiful by transforming the capital into the world's first National Park City.

You can find out more here.

Seedball is super excited to be partnering with London National Park City on this campaign, together we can make London just that little bit greener, and bluer, and redder, and pinker... Keep an eye on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for more updates!
