A bulk bag of edibles oddballs!! Each 300g bag (approx 300 balls) contains a random mixture of our Herb Mix, Tea Mix and Salad Mix Seeball varieties (you may find the odd wildflower - please be careful not to eat these ones!), but not as you've seen them before - these seed balls come in all manner of shapes and sizes, but never a perfect ball - however they will work just as perfectly!

Great for allotments, larger food growing areas in your garden, or to share amongst your friends and family for their kitchen windowsills!) Each bag will cover an area of approximately 15-18 m2.

  • A simple way to grow from seed.
  • Clay ball (plus added chili) naturally protects seed from predators, such as ants, birds and slugs.
  • Easy to use - no need to 'plant', just scatter on top of soil or compost.
  • Ideal for garden beds, planting pots and window boxes.
  • Each salad mix seed ball contains approximately 30 seeds, while the herb and tea mixes contain roughly 100 seeds per ball.
  • As a guide at least twenty seed balls per square meter is recommended for a garden, or 3 - 5 seed balls for a small to medium sized pot.
  • Sprouts seen in 1-2 weeks (regular watering can speed up the process).
  • Scatter from spring through to the end of summer.
  • Leaving some plants to flower will provide tasty food for bees and butterflies too.
  • See our FAQ page for a guide to growing from seed balls.
  • All of our seed has been lovingly cultivated in Cambridgeshire.

What is Seedball?
A ball made from seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chili powder.

Why use Seedball?
The ball prevents the seeds from being a tasty lunch for birds and insects, thereby increasing the chances of your flowers growing. Plus they're super easy to use, no digging and no expert knowledge needed!

What's in the tin?
There are 20 balls in each tin, and around 30 seeds per ball.

How do I grow Seedball?
Just throw onto soil or compost in a garden bed or planter. Your Seedball has everything it needs to grow and, once the ball becomes moist and the temperature is right, your seeds will germinate!

What area will my Seedball cover?
We would usually advise 20 seed balls per square metre, or 3-5 seed balls for a 35cm container.

Conservation:
All seed is responsibly sourced in the UK from Flora Locale accredited suppliers, we only ever use peat-free compost and our steel tins are manufactured in London (with the help of a solar farm on the factory roof).

See our FAQ page for our full guide to growing wildflowers from Seedball.
